Chelsea are through to the final of the FIFA Club World Cup after beating Fluminense 2-0 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Joao Pedro handed the Blues the lead on 18 minutes after a really positive start. The Brazilian forward curled one into the top corner from long range and chose not to celebrate out of respect for his former club Fluminense. The 23-year-old would have been in dreamland, though, scoring his first goal for the Blues - and in some style.
The Brazilians thought they had a penalty not so long after. Trevoh Chalobah was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the box but the referee went to the pitchside monitor and overturned his initial decision - much to the relief of Chelsea.
In the second-half, it was a strong start from the Blues and that told when Joao Pedro fired in his second goal of the game. Enzo Fernandez found the Brazilian on the left-hand side on a counter-attack for Chelsea. He then cut inside onto his right foot and unleashed a rocket to beat a helpless Fabio in the Fluminense goal.
Now it is all eyes on Real Madrid versus Paris Saint-Germain tomorrow to see who the Blues will face in the final. Below, Bobby Vincent rates the Chelsea players out of 10 based on their performance in New Jersey.
Robert Sanchez - 6
Sanchez had a quiet game - much to his relief. Booked for time-wasting.
Malo Gusto - 6
Gusto should do better with a close-range header on 21 minutes. Overall, though, there seems to have been an improvement in the last couple of games from the Frenchman.
Tosin Adarabioyo - 6
Back in the side, and he almost scored on 17 minutes but guided his header just wide. Solid there. His consistency at the back goes under the radar a bit.
Trevoh Chalobah - 6
Chalobah was solid alongside Tosin. He was not too tested but seemed to do well in his duels.
Marc Cucurella - 7
Cucurella does so well around 25 minutes in to prevent an equaliser from Fluminense. Hercules got in behind the Chelsea defence and he manages to sneak the ball past Robert Sanchez but fortunately for the goalkeeper, the Spanish left-back was there to clear the ball off the line.
Moises Caicedo - 8
Returning to the XI after serving his suspension, he just slotted back in with ease. Predictably. Read everything to reduce the amount he had to run in that heat. And, by the way, he still ran a lot.
Enzo Fernandez - 7
Fernandez was consistently looking to find space in behind the Fluminense defence and was often the recipient of over-the-top deliveries from his teammates. A lovely weighted pass for Joao Pedro's second goal.
Christopher Nkunku - 7
Back-to-back starts. Surprised to see him on the right wing. He looked more energetic than usual - particularly in the first-half. Was much more involved than usual. Quietly impressed.
Cole Palmer - 6
Starting in the No.10 role, but often drifted to either side. Produced a brilliant cross on 10 minutes that was almost turned into an assist. Faded in and out of the game.
Pedro Neto - 8
Neto started really brightly. Puts in a fine cross for Malo Gusto early on and should probably have an assist to his name. Loves a solo run does Neto - and even more so, it seems, at this tournament. There were a couple of occasions where he left Fluminense players on the deck with his trickery and speed. Club World Cup Neto is some player.
Joao Pedro - 9
His first start for the club after impressing off the bench on his debut last week. He likes to drop deep and connect the play but is also not afraid to make a run in behind the defenders.
Scores a beautiful goal on 18 minutes - his first for the club. Receives the ball after a mishit clearance and then takes a touch, looks up, and curls one into the far corner. Beautiful stuff.
He wasn't done either. In the early stages of the second-half, Joao Pedro doubled his and Chelsea's tally. A different goal but equally as special. A world-class performance.
Nicolas Jackson (on for Joao Pedro 60') - 6
Hard to produce anything close to the man he was replacing. Hits the side netting on 80 minutes.
Reece James (on for Gusto 68') - 6
Good to see him back after the injury scare. Played at right-back, which is unusual for the Chelsea captain nowadays, and did fine.
Noni Madueke (on for Neto 68') - 6
So much off-the-field talk about him in recent days. Didn't have the chance to get too involved.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (on for Fernandez 86') - N/A
Another cameo.
Andrey Santos (on for Nkunku 86') - N/A
Some more minutes, albeit not many.
