Free Ration Policy Rules: The government distributes free rations to the poor, but if a person takes government rations fraudulently despite having an income of lakhs, then he can be fined and punished both.
The Government of India runs a free ration scheme to help poor and needy families. Under this, grains and essential goods are made available free of cost to eligible people. The purpose of this scheme is to support those families who are living below the poverty line and who do not have money even to get two meals a day.
However, the government has also fixed some rules regarding this scheme, under which only those who are eligible for this scheme will get free rations. If someone's income is in lakhs and he is taking ration fraudulently for five years, then let's know how much fine he will have to pay.
Who cannot get government ration
The government has set some rules for distributing ration to the needy, such as people doing government jobs will not be included in this scheme. Apart from this, people who have four-wheelers or those who pay income tax will also not get the benefit of free ration. The government argues that those whose annual income is in lakhs or who are financially capable do not need this scheme. Free ration will be given only to those poor families who are actually entitled to it and whose income is insufficient to meet the daily needs.
What will happen if someone takes ration in a fraudulent way?
But if a person takes advantage of the government scheme in a wrong way, then legal action can be taken against him. Actually, the government provides ration to poor and needy families at cheap prices under the National Food Security Act. But if a person takes ration by giving fake documents or wrong information despite not being the real beneficiary, then it is considered illegal.
How much fine will have to be paid?
If caught in such cases, not only can you have to pay a fine but there is also a provision for punishment. During this period, the government can recover the amount equivalent to the amount of ration taken wrongly. If someone is taking advantage of this for a long time, then a heavy fine can also be imposed on him. That is, taking cheap ration fraudulently can not only empty your pocket but can also land you in jail.
