It has been seen in many companies that women rarely work in night shift. There are different reasons behind this. But now rules are being fixed for the permission of women to work in night shift in Delhi.
The Delhi government has taken this step to create a business friendly environment for women and to provide new opportunities to working women and increase the scope of their employment. Now let us tell you till how much time women will be able to work at night in Delhi.
Let us tell you that women in Delhi can be allowed to work 24x7 i.e. at any time in shops and commercial areas. But for this, some standards will have to be followed first. Only then will it be possible.
Safe and trackable transport will have to be provided for women employees in night shifts. Along with this, CCTV, security guards, and the presence of a complaint committee under the POSH Act will be necessary in the office. So there are also some rules regarding the salary of women.
The Delhi government believes that this decision will help in making the city a 24x7 business destination. At the same time, the participation of women in workplaces will also increase. This decision can show an effect especially in those sectors where more work is done in night shifts.
As of now, women were not allowed to work from 9 pm to 7 am in summer and from 8 pm to 8 am in winter. But now this old provision is being amended and made flexible. This permission has already been given in many states like Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
