Montgomery: In a tragic incident, four members of a US-based Indian-origin family died in a road accident in Alabama's Green County on Saturday, July 5. The deceased were identified as Venkat Bejugam, his wife Tejaswini Cholleti and their two children, Siddarth and Mrida Bejugam. The family had roots in Hyderabad.
On Saturday night (local time), a mini truck allegedly coming from the wrong direction collided head-on with the victims' car. After the collision, the car burst into flames, reported The Times of India, citing local reports.
A video of their car burning after the accident also surfaced online. In the video, huge flames could be seen engulfing the car.

After receiving the information, official rushed to the spot. Ambulances and fire tenders were also reportedly pressed into action for a rescue and relief operation.
Authorities are conducting forensic examinations as the victims were reportedly charred to death. Officials are carrying out dental record verification and DNA testing to confirm the identity of the bodies before handing them over to their relatives.
The Indian-origin family lived in Sutton Fields near Dallas, reported TOI. Non-profit TEAM Aid is reportedly coordinating with relatives and friends of the family for logistics support.
