New Prostate Cancer Drug: Cancer cases are rapidly increasing worldwide. This is why new research is constantly being conducted to prevent it. In this regard, scientists at the University of Michigan in the US have raised new hopes for prostate cancer patients. They say they have developed a drug that can stop the growth of this disease. This research has been published in the prestigious journal Nature Genetics. Let us tell you about this research in detail.

How does cancer grow?

Researchers found that cancer cells contain specific proteins and chemical tags, scientifically known as H2BNTac. These tags are formed by proteins called p300 and CBP and activate genes that accelerate tumor growth. Their concentrations are many times higher in cancer tissue than in normal cells.

New Drug CBPD-409

To stop this process, scientists have developed a drug called CBPD-409. This drug completely destroys both p300 and CBP proteins. This leads to the disappearance of the H2BNTac tags, and cancer genes cease to be active. Previous drugs only partially blocked these proteins, while this new drug completely destroys them.

successful results in experiments

In lab tests, cells with higher levels of H2BNTac were found to be more sensitive to the drug. The drug also proved effective in experiments on mice. It not only slowed tumor growth but also reduced its size. Importantly, the drug was well tolerated by the body, with no serious side effects.

New hope for patients

Scientists believe this discovery could be especially helpful for patients who no longer respond to hormone therapy. The research team is now preparing to take this drug into clinical trials. If the results are successful, it could become a new option for treating prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers among men worldwide. This discovery by the University of Michigan suggests that new drugs like CBPD-409 could prevent the progression of this disease in the future and prove crucial in saving patients' lives.
