Reality TV star Vicky Pattison has shared how she's feeling ahead of the first live show of Strictly Come Dancing in an emotional post. She opened up about tomorrow night's episode following the dress rehearsal for it earlier today.

Vicky, 37, and her dance partner Kai Widdrington will be among those taking the dancefloor this weekend. The pair will be performing a cha cha as their first routine on the new series of the BBC show and have been sharing updates from rehearsals this week in the lead-up to the performance.

The former Geordie Shore cast member has now told fans that she's "riddled with nerves" ahead of the first live show. She shared her thoughts in a post on Instagram tonight after the dress rehearsal in the studio earlier in the day.

Alongside a photo that showed her with tears in her eyes, Vicky wrote in the post: "I'm lying in bed freshly spray tanned and absolutely RIDDLED with nerves and anxiety about tomorrow's first live show just scrolling through my phone and I came across this picture... It's from the day my agent called me and told me I'd got @bbcstrictly."

She then told her followers: "As someone who has watched the show for years and is a huge fan ... I honestly just couldn't believe they'd want someone like me." Vicky continued by writing in the caption: "In fact, I still can't.."

Vicky said that she will remind herself of that moment over the weekend. She said: "When the nerves ramp up a notch tomorrow which they undoubtedly will, I'm going to remind myself of this moment ... how unbelievably lucky I felt to be taking part in such an amazing show, to be learning a new skill and gaining a new family too.. all these lovely things."

She continued: "I don't want to look back on this experience and just remember how scared I was all the time.. I want my memories to be full of joy, happiness and the twinkliest of toes. So I'm going to try my absolute best tomorrow to put on a good show for the judges and everyone watching in the audience and at home... and I'm going to try my hardest to just be grateful to be taking part..."

In the message, she encouraged fans to be "patient" and apologised in advance over the possibility of crying. Alongside laughing emojis, she concluded the post by writing: "But please just be patient with me on the nerves front please and sorry in advance if I cry... I'm a fanny.."

Vicky was met with supportive messages in the comments section. Her dance partner Kai wrote in his response to the post: "My wonderful partner. It's my pleasure to be able to take to that dance floor with you tomorrow night." Vicky replied: "Thank you partner ... I'm so grateful for you."

Her pal Pete Wicks, who competed last year, wrote: "You got this. I'll be front row." Whilst former contestant Angela Scanlon, who hosts the Get A Grip podcast with pal Vicky, said in her response to the post: "Love you chicken."

Someone else commented: "You can do this, and most importantly have fun! You're ace and all the right people are behind you, rooting for you." Another fan told her: "You're going to absolutely smash it because you are brilliant."
