Craig Doyle, who is hosting This Morning alongside Sian Welby this week until Wednesday, shared some heartbreaking news at the beginning of Monday's show (August 18).
During the ITV programme, which saw one star in tears last week, Craig and Sian were detailing the latest headlines with Ashley James and Gyles Brandreth.
One of the stories they were speaking about included overweight dogs potentially being put on weight-loss drugs to combat the issue.

However, during the conversation, Craig shared some tragic news about his own pet. Gyles confessed his cat isn't doing great. He commented: "My wife sings it to sleep every night, Nala is not very well, sadly."
Directing his comment at Craig, Gyles added: "She may be on her last legs and I know, you've had a sadness this weekend."
Craig replied: "Yes, yeah, I'll be able to talk about it in about three weeks. I'm still- Rigby, our little dote, he passed away on Friday, just when we finished the show."
It seems as though Craig is going through a turbulent time at the moment as he took a moment to issue a message to his mum at the start of Thursday's show.
Co-hosting alongside Emma Willis, he said: "My mum is hospital - and one of my best buddies, Johnny Rogan is in hospital. And won't you believe it, because Ireland is a village, they're in the rooms beside each other by pure coincidence.

"They said they're going to watch together this morning. So mom. Johnny hiya," Craig said before telling his mum to 'put her teeth in'.
Craig also detailed that his mum was in hospital back in May, as he addressed her on-air once again, asking if she had the volume turned up to hear him.
The 54-year-old is fronting the ITV show over the next few days while regular presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard enjoy their summer break.
This Morning viewers were thrilled to see Sian and Craig hosting alongside one another as they quickly took to social media to share their thoughts.
One person said: "I really like this pairing of Craig & Sian - shame Craig's said on a number of occasions that he doesn't want the full-time hosting gig."
Another wrote: "Fantastic, a presenting duo who are professional and easy to watch." While someone else commented: "Yes Craig and sian."
This Morning is available to watch on ITVX.
