England smashed rivals Wales in another stylish performance from Thomas Tuchel's team. The German coach named England's first starting XI without a single Liverpool, Manchester United or Chelsea player since June 1992 - but it mattered little at Wembley as the hosts won an eighth successive match against the Red Dragons by outclassing them from the start.
The Three Lions led within 130 seconds thanks to Morgan Rogers who netted their earliest goal since the Euro 2020 final. And they doubled their lead in this friendly through his Aston Villa team-mate Ollie Watkins in the 11th minute before Bukayo Saka made it 3-0 nine minutes later with a stunner. The intensity dropped despite a raft of second-half substitutes . Express Sport rates the England players after a comfortable victory under the arch...
England player ratings vs WalesJordan Pickford - 7
Touched the ball more with his feet than his hands. Saved well from David Brooks with his legs early in the second half and then excellently denied Chris Mepham's header. The Everton goalkeeper now has a new record with this his eighth consecutive clean sheet for his country.
Djed Spence - 8
Combined really well with Anthony Gordon down the left and very impressive both in and out of possession. Moved to right-back for the last 10 minutes. A notable performance for only his second ever cap. Booked.
Marc Guehi - 7
Brilliant work for Rogers' goal, keeping the ball in play and finding his team-mate in space. Almost nodded in himself before Watkins tapped in to make it 2-0, with his slight touch perhaps sealing him a second assist of the night. Dependable defensively with one highlight a block on a Keiffer Moore shot. Booked.
John Stones - 7
Helped keep a clean sheet on his first England appearance in 12 months. Won the header in the lead-up to Rogers' goal and like Guehi, got a good block on a first-half Moore shot. Overcame a second-half injury scare to last 79 minutes. A major boost having him back fit.
Ezri Konsa - 7
Technically gets the assist for Saka's goal even though the Arsenal man did all the hard work. A solid performance away from his best position.

Elliot Anderson - 8
Excellent in his recycling of possession from the No.6 role and should have had an assist when Watkins fired wide from close range. Crucial to England's complete and utter dominance.
Declan Rice - 7
Captained England for the first time and relished the responsibility with a dominant display which saw him pop up in all areas of the pitch. Some cracking corner deliveries.
Bukayo Saka - 8
His dangerous cross helped lead to England's second goal and he then curled in a ridiculous, and unsaveable, strike to make it 3-0. Was a constant threat whether cutting inside or going down the outside.
Morgan Rogers - 7
Good work for the early Gordon chance and then a cute finish to score his first England goal from the resulting corner. Set up Watkins' goal with a cross across the six-yard box and hit the crossbar from close range after a second-half corner.
Anthony Gordon - 8
Forced a very early save to win the corner that led to the opener. Relentlessly direct throughout and good combination play with Djed Spence. Started the move leading to Saka's goal, drawing defenders over to him. Was a threat in the second half too and almost scored himself late on when curling just wide.
Ollie Watkins - 6
Tapped in from close range to make it 2-0 but then missed an absolute sitter and hurt himself in the process after colliding with the post. Played on until half-time and was then subbed off.

Marcus Rashford (Watkins 46) - 6
Brought on at half-time. Didn't really get involved from centre-forward.
Jordan Henderson (Anderson 69) - 6
Barked orders as England's intensity dropped.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Rice 69) - 6
His first England appearance since November 2018.
Morgan Gibbs-White (Rogers 70) - 6
Plenty of touches and more international minutes for the midfielder.
Jarrod Bowen (Saka 70) - 6
Great pass released Gordon but his shot was blocked.
Myles Lewis-Skelly (Stones 79) - N/A
Another cap for the teenager.
