After months of anxious waiting, Swifties were in for a treat on Wednesday evening, when the pop songstress herself officially shared all the details of her new album The Life of a Showgirl, as she appeared alongside boyfriend Travis Kelce on the New Heights podcast.
Yet while the impressive twelve track listing and album art were the main talk of the night, the two hour long podcast was also peppered with heartfelt insights into the singer's life, including the emotional moment she regained the rights to her master recordings - and the lasting legacy of the Eras tour.
Yet dotted in amongst the emotional rollercoaster of information, was a huge health update for Taylor's dad Scott, who underwent life saving surgery after discovering he had a severe heart condition that needed treatment immediately.
"He is doing incredibly well," Taylor told podcast host Jason Kelce when he enquired about her dad. "My dad had an interesting Summer. He recently had a quintuple bypass surgery and that's a really intense surgery. It all happened really quick."

"He's had a healthy, perfect, EKG every year he's gone in to get his physicals - but what found his five heart blockages was a resting stress test. So he's been telling all his friends, 'You need to get this stress test' because that's what's actually preventative. If you can find that earlier, you don't actually have to have a bypass surgery, you can sort out those blockages with stents and things that are a lot less invasive."
Taylor then went on to reveal the severity of her dad's condition as she explained that within a day of finding out about his heart blockages, he was scheduled to have surgery - yet in true dad fashion, he didn't want any of his family to worry or rush to his bedside.
Needless to say, Taylor didn't listen and quickly raced to his bedside to help him through his recovery - which included a little tough love when she was forced to confiscate his phone after he stayed up all night FaceTiming his friends instead of resting post-op!
Unwilling to leave his side in case he needed anything, both Taylor and Travis moved in with him for the Summer and with help from both her mum and brother, were able to help Scott well on his way to recovery.
