Google is rolling out its advanced AI-powered search experience, "AI Mode," to Hindi-speaking users around the globe. This marks a significant expansion of the company's efforts to integrate artificial intelligence into its core search product, making it easier for users to ask complex questions and get more comprehensive answers. In a Twitter post, Robby Stein, VP, Product at Google Search, wrote, "AI Mode is now rolling out in 5 new languages around the world: Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Brazilian Portuguese. We saw incredible momentum bringing AI Mode to 180+ countries in English last month. With our custom version of Gemini 2.5 in Search, we’re making advancements in language understanding to ensure that our AI search is culturally relevant and useful in each new language. Try AI Mode at http://google.com/ai and let us know what you think."

Google Search: AI Mode in Hindi
The new feature, which uses a custom version of Google's Gemini 2.5 AI model , was initially launched in English in India. Following positive feedback, the company is now making it available to a much wider audience. In a blog post, Google said that AI Mode is designed to handle multi-faceted queries that would typically require multiple searches. According to Google, this is particularly helpful for "exploratory questions" and more complicated tasks such as trip planning, finding local recommendations, or understanding complex instructions. The new mode supports multimodal input, meaning users can ask questions using text, voice, or even by uploading an image.

Google stated that its AI can understand the complexity of such a request—factoring in the user’s desire for a garden, night-blooming flowers, and the specific setting—to provide tailored recommendations. Users can then ask follow-up questions to refine their search.

In the blog post, Google emphasized that this expansion goes beyond simple translation, requiring a "nuanced understanding of local information." By bringing its most advanced AI capabilities to new languages, the company aims to make its search tools more locally relevant and useful for people worldwide.
